Feb 19, 2023 | News

Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs of European Commission has published an extensive study on the EU security market, with the aim of better understanding the EU civilian security market and its dynamics. The study will serve as a benchmarking tool providing reliable up-to-date information on the EU market, including the areas of counter-crime and terrorism, critical infrastructure resilience, border management and disaster risk management, both for supply and demand. The study introduced four tools:

  • future scenarios of the civil security market,
  • taxonomies, i.e. harmonized terminology for security products and services.
  • a catalog of stakeholders in the field of EU civil security on both the demand and supply sides,
  • market segmentation model.

The study contains extensive statistical and graphical material, along with a number of concluding recommendations for the future.
