Smart city and Urban resilience

Our activity focuses on consulting regarding the security part of the Smart city concept. We offer our clients support in the selection of individual technologies and implementation. We have practical experience with the implementation of Internet of Things systems and with the overall strengthening of urban resilience using modern technologies.

Smart city is a concept of using the Internet of Things (Network of physical devices and sensors) to collect data and manage assets, resources and services. The goal of smart cities is to improve the living conditions of their inhabitants and at the same time they can help the city to use limited resources more efficiently. The benefits of implementing the smart city concept can be, for example:

  • Release of human resources of the city for more complex tasks.
  • Reducing the energy intensity of the city.
  • Improving the city services for residents.
  • Increasing the safety of people and property.

From a security perspective, there is great potential for using smart city elements to ensure greater security and resilience of the urban system. Uses in practice may include, for example, the following:

  • Traffic monitoring and control for smoother and safer traffic.
  • Creating a network of intelligent camera systems to reduce crime.
  • Traffic management for the needs of security forces using GPS technology.
  • Monitoring of gas and water supply systems with regard to the prevention of emergencies.
