Rapidly responding railway safety network – results of a survey on measures to increase subjective and objective safety

The very nature of open systems and critical infrastructure in rail transport forces railway operators to explore various ways to permanently increase safety. One of these options is to increase subjective and objective security. The set of safety measures is composed of several factors, their relevance is continuously examined by surveys organized by the International Union of Railways

(UIC). These factors are sound detection systems, separation systems / access control systems, obstacles on platforms, acoustic public address systems, lighting adjustments and employee visibility.
